Zaccheroni: "I don't think Milan can win the scudetto. SES? They don't even know of them in China"
Is Montella's Milan anything like Zaccheroni's? According to Zac it isn't so, there aren't any similarities and he doesn't even give them a chance in the scudetto race.
"I disagree (with the comparisons), my Milan was older" - you can read on today's Tuttosport - "We were coming from a tenth and an eleventh placement with Sacchi and Capello, yet we had quality like Weah, Boban, Bierhoff, Leonardo, Maldini and Costacurta. It was a completely different competition at the time we had the seven sisters and Udinese. Lazio had two teams and both could have won the title. The weak link might have been Fiorentina who had Rui Costa and Batistuta, enough said. They could make it to the Champions League this year if Napoli and Roma slow down because of their involvement in Europe, its already happened to Napoli and Milan have taken advantage".
Milan's strength? "Perhaps they have the least pressure of all in Italy because they are transitioning ownership. The Chinese buyers? They're not even known in China and all the people with money in China are very notorious. Let's see how the story ends. Montella? He's a manager who gives a lot of balance and can get the best out of his squad. Examples? De Sciglio, Paletta, Lapadula. Suso was already growing last season at Genoa".
