Yaya Tourè apologises to Manchester City: ‘I want to help the team achieve new success’

It just might be the end of a long controversy between Yaya Tourè and Guardiola. Manchester City's coach had vowed not to give the Ivorian any playing until receiving an apology for the aggressive comments received after the midfielder was excluded from the Champions League squad. While Pep has time to decide on how to respond, here is the official statement from Yaya Tourè released on his official Facebook page:

‘I’d like to apologise on behalf of myself and everyone who represents me for the misunderstandings these past few months with the managerial staff and everyone at the club. Certain comments don’t truly depict my opinions on the club. I only have respect for Manchester City, and I wish the team the best. I’m extremely proud to have played such an important role in the history of this team, I now want to help this club achieve even more success. I live to play football and to satisfy the fans. Which is why I’d like to thank all the fans for all their messages during these difficult times. It means a lot not only to me, but to my family as well’.
