UEFA to test a fourth substitution in extra time
With an eye on the future, UEFA looks to test major changes to Laws of the Game. UEFA's Executive Committee gathered in Cardiff and decided to experiment by adding a fourth substitution in extra time. Another important development from the meeting is that yellow and red cards will be officially issued to managers and their technical staff instead of automatically sending them to the locker room.
These new rules that UEFA issued in a press release will be tested during the UEFA Women's EURO 2017, the UEFA EURO 2017 Under-21 Championship, the UEFA Women's EURO Under-19 Championship and the UEFA EURO Under-19 Championship. Furthermore, UEFA also decided to test the "ABBA system" for penalty shootouts for the final tournament of the women's and men's European Under-19 Championship.
