Totti discusses the past: "When I was a child my parents had to decided between Roma and Lazio"

Francesco Totti spent his long, storied career as Roma's number 10, captain, and later director, before leaving that role last year. But 30 years ago, when he was a promising player from Lodigiani, Lazio also was interested in him. Totti told the story on an Instagram live with youtuber Damiano Er Faina: "I was 8 years old and the directors from Lodigani called my parents and my brother. They explained that there was the opportunity to play either at Roma or Lazio. My mother was loyal to Lazio, while my father was the true romanista of the family. Even though I wasn't there for the meeting they knew what my preference would be, and in fact I decided to sign for Roma. [If Lazio made an offer for my 15 year old son Cristian], I would think about it, however if it was up to Cristian he wouldn't even sit at the table to discuss it."
