Spezia targeting Pirlo as the top choice to be next coach

Spezia are looking ahead to the future with three games remaining in the season and safety in Serie A looking secure.

Ahead of next season the club are considering a new figure in charge in the style of Thiago Motta, whom they will most likely move on from this summer.

The first choice for coach is Andrea Pirlo, the ex-Juve coach is eager to get back after a year spent away from a job. The former midfield great has had fruitless conversations with clubs over that time, including with Salernitana.

At the end of the season Thiago Motta will separate from Spezia. He had a rocky season and was almost sacked after a string of losses earlier on, but the performances managed to be set right and he was spared his job.
