Spalletti: “The best Roma of my new reign. Dzeko has to be more ferocious, Salah is fantastic”

An important victory against Napoli has launched Roma into sole possession of second place in Serie A. A successful match at the San Paolo, all thanks to a Dzeko brace and a late goal by Salah. In the postgame press conference, Luciano Spalletti couldn't be more satisfied: Surely that was the best Roma of my second term as manager, in terms of our quality and the strength of our opponent. We demonstrated our personality in a stadium that was pure bedlam. We have a good squad, today the victory was for the squad because players who haven't been utilized much played a big part in the win. If you find a way to win in this manner, you demonstrate that  you have important qualities. Sometimes, however, we have proven to be below average. This is the time to make a difference, now we'll see if Juventus can keep it up. Napoli is good in possession, they never give the ball away and know how to play. Their quality can be limited, but never taken away. Things went well for us, but the guys were characterized by sacrifice and quality in order to win a very important match. Dzeko? Until he scored, there were two or three balls in which he should have been more ferocious. We're cointing on him because he gives us solutions: when we're well-marked, we play through him. This is the motivation to play with a physical striker. Salah? I have to ask very little of him because today, he even played well defensively. He tracked back a lot to play wingback at times. He's fantastic when he plays like this, but sometimes he tries to do everything as quickly as possible." @GIANMARCalciO
