Schone turns down offers from Italy and England to sign Heerenveen

Lasse Schone will not remain in Italy after resolving his contract with Genoa, instead he will return to the Netherlands to play for Heerenveen. The midfielder played his youth football there from 2002-2005 and spent 2006 in the first team. The deal between the ex-Ajax player and Heerenveen is near closing. According to Dutch outlet Vi.nl, Schone turned down various offers from Italy, England, and the Middle East returning instead to the Eredivisie, perhaps looking to reintegrate himself into the Danish national team ahead of this summer's Euros.
