Sampdoria, Sabatini resigns after argument with Ferraro

The heavy loss to Bologna today caused a lot at tension at Sampdoria. Following today’s match, sporting director Walter Sabatini abruptly resigned after an argument with president Ferrero who had descended to the locker room to express his disappointment over the performance. Sabatini defended the players and coach which led to an escalation which resulted in his abrupt resignation.

There are numerous clubs interested in hiring Sabatini, including ironically Bologna. More developments are expected in the coming hours which may further clarify the reasons for his departure from Sampdoria.
