Sampdoria, Pioli the favorite to replace Giampaolo

The coaching carousel continues as Sampdoria are now ready to find right candidate for post Giampaolo era. Former Fiorentina manager Stefano Pioli is now the clear front runner, the other candidates either don’t convince the club are aren’t realistic. There was the idea of pursuing Maran but his recent extension with Cagliari through 2022 makes it complicated.

Current Sampdoria manager Marco Giampaolo is expected to be released shortly and is likely to accept an expected offer from Milan.
