Sampdoria open talks with Freiburg for Vincenzo Grifo

Sampdoria have put their sights on a big target for the January window, Vincenzo Grifo, the Italian national team forward who has been frequently and enthusiastically called up by Roberto Mancini.

There have already been inital talks between the sides. Freiburg are open to loaning the winger, who in 19 matches this season has 5 goals and 7 assists. There are initial contacts regarding the possibility of a loan.

Grifo's wish has always been a move to Italy, and if Sampdoria are able to pry him from the 3rd place Bundesliga club, a positive surprise no small part due to his performances, it remains to be seen.
