Sampdoria, offer made to Hamburg for Ekdal

Sampdoria are interested in Hamburg midfielder Albin Ekdal, and have submitted their first official offer to the German club. Ekdal left Italy in 2015, and after three years in Germany, could return to Serie A after his experience at Cagliari. The offer from Sampdoria is €1 million, but the asking price from Hamburg is €2.5 million. However, with the club being relegated, there is a pressing need to sell the player, and Sampdoria are making an effort to bring the player in as a reinforcement for Marco Giampaolo's squad.
