Sampdoria moving closer on deal for Sporting Gijon defender Merè

Sampdoria is moving closer on a deal to land Sporting Gijon's Jorge Merè as a replacement for Milan Skriniar, who today signed with Inter. Samp is looking to seal a transfer with a purchase option for the 1997-born defender. But, there is a relase clause in his contract relating to an eventual sale from Sporting Gijon taking place, as a result of which Merè appears to be moving on a loan.
