Sampdoria make first contact for Napoli's Petagna: the latest

After Manolo Gabbiadini's injury, Sampdoria are looking for another striker to fill the void. The latest idea is Napoli's Andrea Petagna. The player would be returning to his former club after leaving in 2013.  

 Sampdoria have initiated contact with Napoli and they hope to get the go-ahead from the Partenopei next week. It will be difficult for the player to leave during this transfer market session.  

 Sampdoria have been active on the outgoing transfer market, as they recently sent Lorenzo Tonelli to Empoli.
