Sampdoria, Giampaolo: "We need to learn how to manage pressure."
After falling to Roma 4-1 in Stadio Olimpico, Sampdoria manager Giampaolo spoke to Sky Sport.
On the penalty kick not awarded to Ramirez following VAR review: "I have some doubts on the referee's decision. I accept the verdict, even though after watching it again it seems to me that there was contact. But, we'll move forward."
The main problem for Sampdoria, according to Giampaolo, is their excessive fragility in decisive moments. "It's not easy to comment on a 4-1 loss, collectively it's not a result that we like. On a moral level, the two losses we're coming out of weigh on us. We tried to play, but we weren't able to fight through the difficult parts of the match."
"We were not dangerous enough offensively, defecting also from our personality. Against a team of Roma's caliber, this makes things difficult. We need to learn how to manage pressure if we want to raise the bar. Otherwise, we'll need to redefine ourselves," concluded the blucerchiati manager.
