Sampdoria takes on derby opponent Genoa this weekend, and the blucerchiati keeper Emil Audero is very focused and determined to win the match. He spoke with Sky Sport leading up to the derby.

"The derby? It's a special match, different from the others because it's a match for the city and very much felt. It's a special derby because you breath it in the city and especially in the stadium, I believe it has one of those few atmospheres that really gets inside of you. When I entered the pitch in the last match I lived something very strong and think this is unique. The other derbies are great, but this one is special. The first match was a good one, I needed to make a few plays. For us it was a special match, I was able to make some big stops and have great memories. The save on Kouamè's header? It was a great save, but I don't like to give too much weight to it. I hope to make more."

"For us it will be important as we chase Europa League. In the Europa race, nothing has been written. We're all within 4 or 5 points, there still needs to be a big rush to the finish. Last derby for Ferrero? I have a sincere relationship with him, he doesn't hide anything from you and I like having an honest president. I cannot say anything about the future of the club because I don't know anything."

"Quagliarella decisive like the last derby? I hope it can be him again, he deserves it for what he does and what he's done. He's our captain and bomber, I hope he scores as much as possible. A challenge with Radu? It's a challenge of distance but I like seeing a keeper of my age defend the goal of the city's other squad. I wish him the best and may the best man win. He's a keeper that's very confident in himself and carries himself with tranquility."
