Roma, Zaniolo's father: "Will we sign a contract extension with Roma? Yes"

After his goal in the last game, against Fiorentina, Nicolò Zaniolo is still involved in discussions. Not only about his played games, but also about his future. The Roma midfielder had in fact said in the post game interview, when asked about his contract renewal, "I want to meet the club's leadership, then we'll see". After a few hours Zaniolo had posted a statement on Instagram to tell his agents would be the ones dealing with that issue. About Roma's European objective: "We're hoping the club ends up with a Champions League spot. Even without reaching that objective, it's not said my son would have to be the one sacrificed​. I think the club wants to count on him. Would the opposite happen, we'll evaluate the offers. The numbers that we're seeing tell me there wouldn't be a lot of teams that could match the demands. In Italy I think only Juventus and Inter could match these figures. We'll see in summer: Nicolò's priorities are to get a Champions League spot and then the U21 Euro".

About the comparison made by Roberto Mancini, between Pogba and Zaniolo, Zaniolo's father said: "It's true, they share some characteristics. Obviously, with the right proportions: Pogba is a world champion, my son is still very young. I'd like Nicolò to become a champion. I'd want him to play with the best, one between Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappé or Neymar. But above all, whether it's with Roma or Los Angeles Galaxy, I hope he'll start winning trophies in the coming years".
