Roma, Totti to receive the UEFA President's Award
On Sunday, Totti played his last game with Roma and possibly the last game of his career. Today, it was announced that he will be given an award dedicated to former players. In fact, UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin has decided to give Francesco Totti the UEFA President's Award for "extraordinary goals, excellent professionalism and exemplary personal qualities." Furthermore, Čeferin was influenced by Totti's "magnificant career" and praising his "extraordinary loyalty" to the city of Rome.
Totti wins the 17th edition of the award and is the 3rd edition to win after Paolo Maldini in 2003 and Gianni Rivera in 2011. The award was left unassigned in 2015 and 2016 and last won in 2014 by Josef Masopust.
