Roma, probable formation against Chelsea: Manolas returns

Roma has received positive news as Kostas Manolas has overcome the injury to his left abductor muscle and will be available tomorrow evening for the Champions League match against Chelsea. The Greek will likely start the match. Defrel will also be called up but it is likely he will be left on the bench.

The rest of the lineup will incorporate "the best Roma possible" as Di Francesco mentioned in his pre-match press conference. Kolarov will play from the beginning as will Nainggolan. Fazio will take the place next to Manolas in the center of defense and Florenzi on the right, while the midfield will feature Strootman and Pellegrini. Gonalons or De Rossi will feature in front of the defense. Gonalons played well in the last match against Chelsea and it seems like he will be favored over De Rossi for this match as well. In attack we will see a partnership of Perotti and Dzeko once again, while the Belgian will play more advanced up the pitch as Gerson did last time around.

Here are the 19 giallorossi players that have been called up by Di Francesco:

Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker, Lukasz Skorupski;

Defenders: Juan Jesus, Aleksandar Kolarov, Hector Moreno, Federico Fazio, Kostas Manolas;

Midfielders: Radja Nainggolan, Kevin Strootman, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Daniele De Rossi, Maxime Gonalons, Alessandro Florenzi, Gerson;

Forwards: Diego Perotti, Edin Dzeko, Cengiz Under, Gregoire Defrel, Stephan El Shaarawy;
