Roma officially hire Fonseca:”I accept the new challenge”

After three seasons at Shakhtar, Paulo Fonseca will start the next chapter of his career at Roma. The 46 year old manager signed a two year deal with an option for a third. President James Pallotta introduced him this way:”Paulo is a young and ambitious manager with international experience, winning mentality and is known for his courageous and offensive style of football that will give enthusiasm to our fans”

Fonseca said goodbye to Shakhtar with a heartfelt post on Instagram:”Ukraine gave me a lot: we won trophies, here I had a unique experience. But the main thing I got to know here are the people. The people there every day believed in me and supported me. I say thank you to everyone. We were a great team and I’ll never forget you. I accept the new challenge. But the Ukraine will remain in my heart. My son was born here and I spent three happy years”.
