Roma, Fonseca's post-match comments after loss to Sassuolo

Roma followed up a draw in the derby with Lazio with a defeat at home to Sassuolo, losing the match 4-2. The first half saw Roma concede three goals, before a comeback attempt was halted by the neroverdi. The coach of Roma Paulo Fonseca gave his thoughts to DAZN after the match: "We did not play in the first half. It's impossible to win when you defend like that. For a team who has winning aspirations it is impossible. This was a tough match, we knew if we allowed Sassuolo into it we would pay. I didn't expect certainly that every attack would turn into a goal. The refereeing was not to blame, it was our fault we lost. But I don't know why Roma received so many yellow cards. Dzeko after the match told me that there was no need to talk to the referee, that it was not the moment to be mad with the referee."
