Roma, Bruno Peres: “Milik is an important loss for Napoli. The season is still wide open”
The Serie A returns after the international break with a big match right off the bat: Napoli vs. Roma. Bruno Peres spoke on the club's official site about the upcoming match at the San Paolo and the Serie A in general : "Whoever didn't go to their national team got a chance to recover, and those who played in qualifiers will be a little tired, but we want to start off strong. We know it's only just begun and nothing has been decided but there's Juventus, Napoli and ourselves. These are the teams that have all begun the season well. Juventus has already won? I don't think so, I believe the season is still wide open. We're at the start and we have to work very hard and try to do well because the Serie A will be finished only after the 38th matchday."
And on Saturday's match at the San Paolo: "We know how difficult it is to play in that stadium, against such a strong team. We have to work well and try to do our best because Saturday will be a tough game, but we want to win. The loss of Milik is an important one for Napoli. He's a great player, very strong, but their style of play is a bit different, and even without him they remain frightening. We have to try and put in a great performance. You can take away whoever you'd like from Napoli, they have many top players. We have to try to take them out of the match. How? Neutralizing the eleven players on the field by working hard and marking well to get the 3 points. Sarri is an excellent coach and I believe he's doing a very good job. He makes his players understand exactly how he wants them to play. They've had an international break like us and when your last outing was a loss, you want to get the win by any means possible when it restarts. This is positive for us because as they try to attack, they'll lose balance so we can hit them on the counter and get the result in this way."
On Roma's current period: "Against Inter we put everything on the pitch, we wanted to do well. But we still have to work, we're a great team and we have to move up in the standings. AgainstInter, that was my best match, I made an assist and helped my teammates. When I arrived here, I didn't imagine to play so much. But for me it was important, I've already gotten accustomed to playing with my teammates, and I've gained confidence with our system. I fit in quickly with the group and I found the best environment possible for a player like myself. Spalletti told me that I have to get better defensively? Yes, it's true, but I also have to get better on offense. You always have to try and improve. As time goes on, I'm understanding what Spalletti wants and I believe that I have a long way to go before I become a top player."
