Roma and Manchester United yet to reach an agreement over Smalling permanent transfer

Roma and Manchester United are in negotiations to make Chris Smalling's transfer to the Giallorossi permanent.

Roma are willing to keep the Englishman, however their offer of €3 million to extend the loan for one more season plus €14-15 million to make the deal permanent was deemed too low by United. The club are also yet to solve the situation regarding the player's availability for Roma's European games in August, as confirmed by the Giallorossi coach Paulo Fonseca: "We are working towards keeping Chris here at the club and we are hopeful that he can be available  for the Europa League"
