With a glimpse into the future, Real Madrid is waiting for their new home. It'll always be Santiago Bernabéu, but a newer version and available for 2022. The project is of great ambition and also gives security to the team in that they will not have to move stadiums while it is being built. Real will remain in their current stadium for the next three years, taking advantage of a working plan that'll primarily be completed during the summer months in which the team is not playing. During the season, the stadium will remain open to public visits with minor work occurring, as it happened in 1994 when the stadium was being updated the last time.

The stadium will have a removable roof which will be able to open and close within 15 minutes. There will be no changes to the capacity of the stadium, but more room will be available for disabled guests. The changes will cost a total of 525 million euro, financed by bank loans guaranteed due to the consistent financial success and turnover of the club.
