Portugal insist on Roma boss Jose Mourinho, the situation.

After the victories of the Euro's in 2016 and the Nations League in 2019, the Fernando Santos era on the Portuguese bench has now ended.Portugal's Football Federation has not yet announced a successor for Mr Santos, but they have been working for days to find the right profile and the right man to come in.  

The main candidate for the role is Jose Mourinho. The highly successful, respected and skilled manager is the manager the Portuguese want. In fact, in the last few hours they are insisting on Mourinho to be the new Portuguese boss, however they would like an answer as soon as possible. In the case that the Special one accepts, the parties will then have to find a solution so Mourinho can manage both Portugal's national team and Roma.
