Parma: 5 point penalty in Serie A, Calaiò suspended 2 years

A verdict has been reached for a trial involving newly-promoted Serie A club Parma after receiving an accusation of illicit sporting behavior by player Emanuele Calaiò. The Federal National Court has imposed a 5 point penalty to Parma, which will be served in the upcoming season of Serie A. Additionally, Calaiò, former striker for Napoli and Siena, will serve a two-year suspension after being found guilty of sending a suspicious text message to a La Spezia player before a match last season. The result of this match helped Parma achieve promotion to Serie A.
