Napoli, from Verdi to Torreira and Lainer: updates on the transfer market

With the debut season for Carlo Ancelotti at Napoli still months away, the squad is still taking shape for the coming season. Simone Verdi will sign a contract to become a Napoli player for 5 years, and will complete the deal on Monday or Tuesday. Milan will receive €4m for the 20% of future sale of the player retained by the rossoneri.

On to the deal for Torreira, which has become more complicated with the insertion of Arsenal into the race. The midfielder has a release clause for €25m, but the agreement could arrive with a formulation of a higher fee paid over multiple years. No deal yet between Arsenal and the Uruguayan, the player's agents have asked for another week to evaluate their offers. Contacts with wing back Lainer from Salzburg are ongoing. The deal could be reached for a €10m fee, and could be Napoli's second addition after Verdi.
