Napoli, De Laurentiis:"We're in final stage for Mertens' extension"

While Napoli is still battling Roma for second place in Serie A, the club is hard at work on some contract extension after recently locking up Lorenzo Insigne to a new deal. This is what president Aurelio De Laurentiis told Sky Sport about Dries Mertens and manager Maurizio Sarri:"With Mertens it's up to him. We are in the final stage, his representatives should arrive in Italy and we should sign the contract extension. Last summer Sarri got a significant raise, which he asked for and we granted. When the contract expires we'll evaluate how many scudetti he won, how many times we made it to a final and if we won in Europe, then we'll give him what he deserves"
