Milan, Montella has faith: “The penalty with Sassuolo will change Bacca’s season. Closing? No excuses, it’s not on our minds”
With Sassuolo-Milan being a thing of the past, the focus shifts to the home fixture at the San Siro against Chievo Saturday night. Vincenzo Montella covered several topics in his press conference:
“Chievo adapts to their opponents and knows how to hurt them. I expect a difficult match. Closing? I don’t want this team to have any excuses, the only thing we need to be worried about is playing football. We never talk about it, all we do is play football. The lads have showed commitment to the jersey, like Abate who finished the match without seeing from one eye”.
On the standings and the European qualification objectives: “It’ll be a great battle until the end of the season. I think the worst part is over now. We’re still in the running for Europe”.
On his future and Bacca: “My daily challenges and this current season are the only things on my mind. Bacca? I experimented and he can definitely play with Sosa and Locatelli. Manuel is doing well, he’s a humble guy with a desire to get in better shape. The penalty with Sassuolo will change Bacca’s season”.
