Milan have a Plan B to acquire Botman should he stay at Lille in January

It's no secret that Milan's main priority in the January window is landing a center back following the injuries to Kjaer and Tomori. Sven Botman has been at the top of the rossoneri's wish list for quite some time, but landing him in January won't be easy.

In recent days, Lille's president Olivier Letang, publicly confirmed the club's intention to hold on to the Dutch center back:"we are keeping our best players, we haven't opened negotiations for Botman"is what he stated. Milan have come up with a plan B, anticipate the competition in the summer by reaching an agreement now.

Milan intend to invest significantly at center back position in the summer, they would like to reach an agreement now while leaving Botman at Lille until the end of the season, in a deal reminiscent of the one they struck with Bordeaux for Adli last summer.

Should Milan be able to block Botman for the summer, they would still look to acquire a defender in January, they had a recent contact with Tottenham about Tanganga and are also monitoring Diallo and Bailly.
