Manchester United won’t extend Smalling’s loan to Roma

The odds of reaching an agreement to extend Chris Smalling's loan at Roma appear rather slim. With the deadline for the upcoming Europa League list just 36 hours away, Manchester United have turned down the opportunity to continue the loan passed the original deadline.

While this development almost certainly concludes Smalling's time at Roma for the 2019/20 season, Roma will still have the opportunity to bring him back for next season.
