Manchester City make first approach for Jorginho: Napoli’s demands deemed too high
After a strong season at Napoli that also saw him make his debut for the Italian national team, Jorginho is a target for top clubs abroad including Manchester City. The Citizens have made the initial approach to acquire the Italo/Brazilian midfielder, as they are very interested in signing the player, but Napoli’s demand for 60 million surprised the Premier League champions. At the moment there’s considerable distance between the parties regarding the value of the player, essentially Guardiola’s club are interested but not at those figures. In addition to Jorginho, Manchester City have also set their sights on another Serie A player in Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa, who is coming off a great season playing for Stefano Pioli. Guardiola is looking to Italy for reinforcements for next season
