Juventus, Marotta: "I understand Sampaoli leaving out Dybala and Higuain, Argentina has many great strikers"
Juventus' current CEO Beppe Marotta was present during the 6th edition of the Ghirelli award in Turin. Marotta gave some thoughts to Sky Sport, starting with his thoughts on Carlo Ancelotti, who was also at the event, and comparing him to Allegri: "We are close. We are extremely happy and proud of Allegri's work and continuing with Max is a fact that's not up for debate. But we are also admirers of Carlo Ancelotti, who is not only a friend, but a great coach." Marotta also spoke about Dybala and his being benched by the Argentine national team "I must say that Argentina is full of great strikers and it's difficult for Sampaoli to play them all at once. It's logical that people praise the quality of Messi, who remains the best in the world. As a result, Dybala and Higuain are finding it difficult to get in the lineup, it's part of the game." On VAR: "Juventus' position is that technological support for the referees is necessary. For us, we welcome VAR and don't fear it. It is in a experimental phase, and there is an internal protocol which guides its use, but all sides should get together to come to a definitive protocol." Marotta closed on Lazio-Juventus, and on Simone Inzaghi: "Inzaghi? For the future strongly no, that that doesn't mean that I cannot compliment him on what he's done: Simeone has great qualities as a man and a professional. He has put together a competitive squad and is one of the emergent coaches: he should have a great career. We are happy to go ahead with Allegri who has a multi-year contract: he has brought us results."
