Juventus, Buffon:”I don’t want to be a burden, I’ll play as long as I’m a significant asset”

When the career of a legend like Gigi Buffon reaches the final stages it can become very difficult to decide when is the right time to retire. The Juventus captain spoke about his thought process in an interview with Sky Sport:”The risk is to become a burden, which I don’t want to do. At this age it’s hard to be serene when it comes to self appraisal, I have the luck of being surrounded by people that I can ask advice to and judgements on my sporting state of health. From the outside you can analyze it more objectively. I’m still a player, I just think about playing because I feel a sense of responsibility to the management and the team. There’s a great friendship with the president, we’ll evaluate everything serenely. I don’t like to be forced into things, as long as I’m a significant asset to the team we’ll continue together
