Juventus, Allegri: "Cancelo requires surgery. Ronaldo will rest for a match coming up"
Massimiliano Allegri previewed Juventus' derby with Torino, ahead of the match the coach spoke in his pre-match press conference. Before discussing the match, Allegri made a revelation on an injured player:
"Cancelo has a problem with his meniscus, he will undergo surgery and will return after a layoff. For Cuadrado we will see if he needs minor surgery or not."
On Torino: "It is a very emotional match, but it has to remain a football match and not degenerate into nasty stuff, otherwise you will fall victim to the same mistakes. We need the right energy to get to the end of the first half of matches."
Allegri also discussed the lineup: "Chiellini will be back in, I have a doubt between Bonucci and Rugani. De Sciglio on the right and Alex Sandro on the left are sure things, and Pjanic will play in the midfield: he is fine. When we are playing with three attackers the midfield can get overworked. Pjanic is critical for us, he gives us time to set up and then quickly makes plays, he will play with Emre Can tomorrow. Right wing is between Douglas and Bernardeschi. Mandzukic was the freshest of everyone this morning, he is great and will play tomorrow. Perin will get the start tomorrow."
And a word on Ronaldo: "He will get a rest in one of the matches between Roma, Atalanta or Sampdoria. His comments that this is the best team he's been with? At Juventus everyone works hard and the methods here bear results."
