Italy, Mancini close to national team job as a resolution is met with Zenit

Italy is close to having a new national team manager. It looks like the man for the job will be Roberto Mancini, as reported by Alessandro Alciato of Sky Sport. The manager has reached a resolution to leave Zenit and will manage the team for the last time on Sunday. On Monday, he is expected in Rome where he will meet with the FIGC to finalize their agreement.

Leaving Zenit is a big economic sacrifice for Mancini, as he is breaking off 2.5 years of his contract that would have paid him 13 million euros. On May 22nd, he is expected to be at Coverciano to train the Italian national team for their upcoming friendlies against Saudi Arabia, France and the Netherlands.
