Antonio Conte looked very satisfied with Italy’s debut in this Euro tournament. Speaking to Sky’s microphones after the victory over Belgium, thanks to goals from Giaccherini and Pelle, The manager of the azzurri wanted to congratulate himself with his players: “I have to give my compliments to the players, they interpreted the match in the best fashion possible. We prepared it in the best way possible. We are a team, a true group. Only like this we can keep moving forward”. Before the goal that killed Belgium right before the final whistle Italy suffered Belgium’s thirst for an equalizer: “We suffered quite a bit, but that’s normal. I would have liked to suffer a bit less, we lowered ourselves too much but we were also dangerous and had a couple opportunities to double the lead. But, I’m very happy for the lads, they deserve this victory for their hard work and the men they are”.
