Iran, fans demonstration in support of Stramaccioni

Despite leading his team to the top of the standings, Andrea Stramaccioni resigned from his position as Esteghlal's manager because of too many difficulties, including irregularities with payments, which prompted the rescinding of his contract for just cause. The development caused the club's fans to take to the streets to protest the way their team handled the situation.

Numerous supporters gathered under of the office of the Ministry for Sports, in addition on social media hundreds of message were sent to the former Inter and Udinese coach to ask him to reconsider his decision. Stramaccioni is currently on a flight that left Istanbul in direction of Rome, while his staff hasn't been able to leave yet. The local authorities are concerned there could be an escalation of the tension from the last few weeks.
