Serie A league brass and the referees met to discuss the use of VAR after 31 weeks of league play. At the end of the meeting, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta spoke on the use of VAR and referees' errors.

"It was a positive meeting. The evolution of modern football needs technology, I'm absolutely in favor of it. We need to improve the protocol, but I think that the main topic of discussion is around penalty fouls. VAR can eliminate may errors, but cannot reach perfection. The IFAB will need to dictate the regulations.  The most important topic is the hand foul and its interpretation. If you ask me, along with VAR, it's the most difficult thing to find a definitive solution for."

"How do we eliminate errors? I'm neither Rizzoli nor Nicchi. I can only underline how VAR and technology are indispensable. You need to perfect it, but we're still in a phase of study and understanding how to use CAR. The dialogue from the IFAB needs to be more productive from a political stand point and we need to make it heard.
