Inter, Marotta: "Lautaro's extension? We are in a good place"

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta spoke about the situation tied to Lautaro Martinez and other key players amidst the situation at the club after the transfer window closed.

"We had to act quickly to combat problems that cropped up, but that is part of the game. Behind the team on the field there is a another team behind the scenes, who can handle things. I have strong colleagues, Ausilio and Baccin, we succesfully rebuilt an atmosphere where others had said was a lost cause."

"The extension for Lautaro? We are in a good place, same as for the others. From that point of view there are not many big problems." Inter and Lautaro are just a signature away: there is already an agreement with his entourage for the exension for a base salary of €6 million after taxes plus bonuses per season.

Besides Lautaro, also Marcelo Brozovic (contract expires in 2022) and Nicolò Barella are negotiating with Inter for their extension. The club's priority is the find an agreement with both players' entourages for them to continue with the nerazzurri.
