Inter's first Champions League match at the San Siro against Slavia Prague earlier today did not give Antonio Conte much reason to smile. A late goal from Barella allowed the nerazzurri to tie the match, 1-1, and the coach had this to say after to Sky Sport: "They believed and brought intensity and great pressing while we were not good at finding a solution. In other matches that teams sat back and waited, while Slavia attacked us and we needed to find different solutions. We struggled and I'm certainly not happy with this evening's performance."

"The first person responsible is me. The guys should be left alone but this is not the football we play and which we train for."

"We need to have more personality. When we talk about the path of growth I know what the situation is; we didn't see anything of what was tried in training."

"Physical difficulties? We had to run more than them and instead we didn't show anything. It's parth of the path. You think I put my hands and they become swans. There is great desire but the level is high and we need to grow in all points of view. There are, however, growth steps, we know there is work to be done, there are so many new guys."

"Even Lazaro never played before and today he entered in a moment of difficulty. The guys gave their all and put their effor into it, but I take all of the responsibility. Lukaku? I'm not speaking of individuals, only of the team. And we were all lower than the sufficient level. I hate to see long balls and running, we did it but it wasn't the 'plan b,' we don't train for this."
