Hamsik:"I could finish my career at Napoli. I hope to match Maradona's goal total"

There aren't many "bandiere" left on Italian clubs. Iconic players who stay at same club for almost their entire careers are rare, but Marek Hamsik has become a symbol for Napoli. The Slovakian midfielder spoke to Corriere dello Sport about his bond to the city:"I'm surprised that I'll be playing in my 500th game for the club. I'm getting older, I know, but I still feel like a kid- 500 leaves a nice feeling, it means I gained the confidence of those around me. Reach Maradona's goal total for Napoli? I hope to do so this season, it gives me motivation. I'll never be like him, it's impossible, but I'll have satisfaction of surpassing him. I never expected to have this strong bond with Napoli, it's clear there won't be another team in Italy for me, but I believe there are the conditions for me to end my career here"
