Guidolin: "Napoli can win the scudetto. Their style is renowned across all of Europe."
Francesco Guidolin, the Italian manager who served in the Premier League with Swansea City, was interviewed in a story for La Gazzetta dello Sport. Guidolin was asked about his current prospects for a new job: "I will wait for an offer that's enriching professionally, not economically. Maybe abroad, in a national team. I must have something that I have my heart in. Being offered the Italy job years ago? I had not been telephoned about it directly, but I had hints, I felt that it was nearly there. Later on, when I was in Coverciano, the FIGC president Tavecchio let me know he was considering me. It was an honor to have been considered with Conte for the job."
Guidolin also commented about Italy's club competition, both domestically and in Europe: "Serie A? I like Sarri's Napoli a lot, they play a great style of football, fast and elegant, with the ball always on the ground and with a forward thinking mentality. Napoli or Juve? A lot depends on the Champions League, but maybe for the scudetto Napoli will get it, because of their self-awareness and knowledge of their strength. I watch Manchester City a lot, Pep needed a season to get used to England, you can't replicate his Barcelona in the Premier League. In his first season he prepared himself and now he is doing what he can do. City-Napoli? It's a wonderful match, anything could happen. Napoli will not be afraid, they know that their great style of play is recognized across Europe."
