Griezmann and the Ballon d'Or: "I've won three finals, I've been decisive in important moments but I'm not the one to vote"

There haven't been so many doubts on who will win the Ballon d'Or in the past years than this one. December isn't so far away anymore and one of the candidates - besides his talent, he's also won trophies last season - hasn't hidden his intentions. Antoine Griezmann has talked to L'Equipe about the prize: "The past season has been the best of my career, there have been years where I've scored more goals but this time, I've won three trophies. Would it be unfair if I don't win the Ballon d'Or? Not unfair, but I would ask myself what more should I do. I've won three trophies, I've been decisive in important moments but I'm not the one to vote".

Griezmann has been among the three finalists in 2016: that season was also positive from a personal point of vue but unfortunate regarding the results: "Comparing 2018 to 2016, I think I should be one of the three finalists again. In 2016 I've lost three finals, this time I've won three so...". Grizou isn't leaving a lot of doubts on his opinion. About the "Fifa The Best" awarded by FIFA to the best footballer of the year, he's quite frank. The three finalists are Cristiano Ronaldo, Madrid and Salah: after Atlético's tweet, who published a foto of Griezmann with the three won trophies and the words "sin palabras", the French man stands by the same position: "We're talking about a FIFA trophy, right? The World Cup is organized by the FIFA right? France wins the WC and there's not French player among the finalists, it's surprising".
