Genoa: Strootman arrives tomorrow or Tuesday; Papastathopoulos talks falling apart

Genoa has been very active during this January market window. For Ballardini's midfield, Kevin Strootman will be joining to strengthen the group. The Marseille midfielder, who formally played for Roma, will arrive in Genova either tomorrow or Tuesday to complete his medical visits. Everything has been completed between the two sides.

The deal to acquire defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, however, is more complicated. The Greek defender would seem more convinced by the offer received by Betis Seville, where he'd re-join Marc Bartra, his former teammate at Borussia Dortumund. There is expected to be a meeting tomorrow between the player's entourage and the Spanish club's management. Genoa is becoming more pessimistic on acquiring the player.

Yesterday, Gianluca Scamacca did not play. It's still unknown how serious Juve's interest in the player is. Today, the bianconeri management will speak with Sassuolo, who owns the player's rights.
