With the calendar turning to April, clubs are starting to brace for the new financial reality following the Coronavirus pandemic. Genoa's president Enrico Preziosi described the situation in a recent interview with La Stampa:"This isn't a lethal blow but rather an extremely tough one. Despite it all, I'm serene, I'm not someone who gives us. I'm ready to start over while knowing we will have to work more than before. It's hard to quantify the disaster, we have 450 stores that are closed, my first thought is with the workers, the risk is to lose 300 to 400 million in revenues"

When asked about how to finish the season, Preziosi has clear ideas:"Football isn't a priority, but we need to talk about it. Because it's an industry that is struggling, like all others. We will have to stay stopped until May 3rd, I don't know what will happen. At this time what matters is people's health. Playoff and Playout? I don't agree, you can't change the rules as you go along and Genoa has no advantages with the league being stopped, we were one of the teams in the best form, I'm certain we would have gone up the standings".
