Genoa, Behrami:”I was scared, but now we must stay united”

Genoa went through three very difficult weeks dealing with COVID. The nightmare all started on September 26th when Mattia Perin tested positive, the keeper was the first of seventeen total players positive for the virus. Slowly the situation improved and numerous players recovered enough to return to training, including Valon Behrami who spoke to Sky Sport about his experience:"They were difficult days, especially from the mental aspect. Physically I'm used to coming back after a few months off and I will do the same now, but the mental apsect is something I wasn't familiar with"

The Swiss midfielder went on:"I had to deal with fear, for myself and my family, because in that moment you aren't a sick athlete, but simply a sick man. Football becomes less important and it was certainly a complicated experience for me"
