Galeone: ‘They expect beautiful football, but when has Juve ever had it?’

Despite being first, there is no lack of criticism for Juventus. Giovanni Galeone, a mentor for Allegri, expresses his thoughts to La Gazzetta dello Sport:

‘I want to make things clear: I’m a fan of Allegri, not Juve. That being said, everyone complains about how the ‘bianconeri’ play, but when have they ever had beautiful football? All coaches from the past like Trapattoni, Capello, Lippi, Ranieri, Maifredi had tough, gritty and aggressive teams. Agnelli occasionally purchased the classy superstar like Platini, Del Piero, Zidane, but Juventus has always been a rugged team. History has shown they only care about the final score. The fact that Trapattoni is remembered for losing 3 league titles as opposed to winning 7 is a testament of this’.

Nonetheless, Galeone is convinced that Juventus will be ready when it counts: ‘Allegri is the first to know that the team needs to perform better. He says it himself: Lets wait until March. The main thing right now is to recover injured players and hold on to the first positions in the standings. Allegri will be ready to play well and to win come spring time’.
