Fiorentina's acquisition of Traorè not yet official at Lega Calcio: the situation

Fiorentina made a decision with next season in mind: one of the acquisitions in January was Hamed Junior Traorè from Empoli. The player signed a contract until 2023 and he would finish the season with the Azzurri. The medical visits were already complete and the transfer to be completed in July. In fact, the Ivorian is not considered to be a Fiorentina player by the Lega Calcio regardless of the deal between the clubs. This is because Traorè has been on the bench for the last two games and he will have to undergo further medical tests during the international break. Fiorentina applies this rule to a majority of their young players and to those who haven't completed their transfer in the final days of the January window. There is still the will to the ratify the deal in June. Traorè has been eligible to play for Empoli in this return leg of the season otherwise he wouldn't have been on the bench at the San Siro against Milan. There are no medical reasons why he hasn't been playing and they are just Empoli manager Beppe Iachini's tactical\technical choices.
