Fiorentina, Pezzella: "With a couple of new signing we will definitely reach Europe next season. Playing the World Cup? It would be a dream"

After a good first season in Italy, Fiorentina defender German Pezzella is focused on the last 90' of this season against Milan. Thanks to his good performances with the Viola, the Argentinian has been included by Sampaoli in the 35-men squad list for the World Cup, but Pezzella tries not to think about it, as he revealed to La Gazzetta dello Sport: "I try not to think about that, otherwise I could go crazy. I want to take any chance to persuade Sampaoli to take to to Russia. Icardi? He is a great striker, but Argentina have many other amazing strikers. It will depend on the formation that Sampaoli will use". Pezzella then discussed Fiorentina's season and his hopes for next campaign: "At the start of the season no one believed in us, yet we played until the end for an European spot. Should our best players stay here and should the club bring in two or three new players we will definitely book a place in the European competition next year. Chiesa? Why should he leave? Next season he and Simeone will be one of the best duos of the league. Extend my contract? I couldn't ask for more".
