Fabbricini:”Will take time for Calcio to get back on track”
From the rescheduling of matches after the tragedy in Genova to Roberto Mancini’s appointment, Roberto Fabbricini addressed various topics in an interview with Anch’Io Sport on Rai Radio 1:”Football is a world that attracts everyone and ruins many- the commissioner of the Italian federation said- The people who must govern the federation are there and they must govern this world well. It will take time for Italian football to rise again. We need conviction and strength to reform this movement”
Was playing the first matches of the season the correct thing to do? “The decision to stop is more of an individual one. We could have stopped, but the personal grieving should have taken place for everyone, from karaoke to town fairs, not just with football which is part of Sundays for Italians”
Fabbricini also took stock of Roberto Mancini’s work so far as Italy’s manager:”We are in a very low position in the rankings, but I think Roberto was a good choice. He had a big desire to sit on Italy’s bench and face various difficulties on top of accepting an offer in line with FIGC’s budget. Now the matches start and we’ll see the pitch’s response”
